The Vision
The Association for Academic Surgery Foundation (AASF) was created with the vision of a healthcare world in which funding was available for all quality research initiatives that may influence the practice of medicine.
About Us
The Association for Academic Surgery Foundation (AASF) is acutely aware of the perilous funding environment for young surgical investigators. In 2006, The Association for Academic Surgery Foundation (AASF) was founded with the aim of expanding research funding for surgical investigators.
The number of available research grants to young surgeons is still far below the number needed to sustain surgical research in this country, and our goal is to increase that number by asking for whatever level of support you can provide. Please consider a gift to the AASF to help support the research fellows and young faculty whose academic careers are just developing. As a 501(C) 3 organization, your contribution to the Foundation is fully deductible for tax purposes according to law.
Your support will help us bring the latest innovations to the bedside, will support the superiority of surgical therapies for a wide range of diseases, and will expand the horizons of our understanding of human biology.
Our Mission
The mission of the Association for Academic Surgery Foundation is to expand sources of funding for young surgical investigators.
What We Do: The Goal of the AASF
It’s imperative that The Association for Academic Surgery Foundation continues to build momentum and supports the best and brightest in their research initiatives. To achieve our mission, the Association for Academic Surgery Foundation works to offer as many research awards as possible to both young faculty as well as research fellows working with AAS members. Awards which support research programs early in the career of academic surgeons are especially important to keep our research programs available to young investigators, and to ensure the highest quality of research.
The Academic Surgical Congress:
